The Clockwork Century
Eftersom jag gillade Boneshaker så mycket så blev jag glad när jag hittade den här sidan där det finns en hel del info om boken och fram för allt om kommande böcker som utspelar sig i samma värld:
Boneshaker is set in an alternate-history universe that I’ve dubbed “The Clockwork Century”. This is the first full-length project I’ve written using this world setting, although previously Subterranean Magazine produced a “novellette” called “Tanglefoot,” which you can read in its entirety over here, if you are so inclined.
At present, there are two more projects planned for the Clockwork Century setting: Clementine (in early 2010, from Subterranean), and Dreadnought (fall of 2010, from Tor). Though both of these books include characters who pop up in Boneshaker, neither book is really a “sequel.” They’re independent adventures featuring some of the same people (or folks who have relatives appearing in Boneshaker), living very eventful lives someplace else.
To be more precise, Clementine follows three dudes from Boneshaker out of Seattle and down into the Midwest, where they wind up in Kentucky having an adventure — your enjoyment of which in no way shall rely upon anything that happens in Boneshaker. And Dreadnought begins in Virginia, then follows the progress of a young woman whose father appears in Boneshaker. But again, you should have no problem keeping up with her adventures, whether or not you ever get around to reading this first book.
(But please read this first book! I think you’ll like it.)
